SMCS Design and Print
In the media industry there is a distinct difference between Production and Design. The cost for each can be significantly different.
In short, design is more involved and employs a greater level of original creativity to the process for the purpose of establishing a custom and unique result. Production is essentially applying those concepts to create the final product. You may already have something very specific in mind and have collected samples or actual content which, if provided, can save time and ultimately, cost.
Similar to video or multimedia, design and print projects are subject to estimation as there are usually too many variables to make a fair assessment of time and cost without knowing of them in advance and through careful consultation. Determining that can be fairly straightforward if you consider the following...
Intended End-Use and Venue:
Promotional or Identity (i.e., Business, Product or Service), Support Media for Internal Use (i.e., Publication or Print, Web-based, Video).
Venue: Trade Show, Grand Opening, or appearance, informal pizza party or black-tie event
